The structure of Yarns that represent this work is twofold. One of them has been spun of the soul of traditional Arabic music, with its unique aesthetics including: oriental scales (Maqamat) with their distinctive intervals, ornaments, rhythms and improvisation.

The other one has been spun through the knowledge that I have gained through my experiences of the direct acquaintance with western culture in general, and particularly the western music culture, during the course of my studies of musical composition in Switzerland, and my residency in this country which has begun in 2005.

This experience added an abundance of contemporary ideas to the structure of this work regarding treating the aesthetical concept on one hand, and on the other hand reviewing the definition of the musical composition “through the modern western musical concept” as well as searching in the depths of the sound for the sake of choosing the most adequate elements which I desired to discuss within this musical project.
